You Should Wear Badge Of Betrayal, Not National Honor’ – Atiku’s Aide Knocks Onanuga
Onanuga

Special Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Public Communication, Frank Shaibu, has criticised the spokesman to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, for praising his principal over the national honours following his contribution to entrenching democracy and the fight for the de-annulment of the June 12 election result.
Naija News reports that Shaibu, while reacting to Onanuga’s 𝕏 post, reminded him how he stood against military tyranny and spoke truth to power.

However, Atiku’s aide noted that Onanuga no longer walks on the noble path of lending his voice to the people, but has decided to support a government whose actions echo the oppression he once stood against.

According to Shaibu, Onanuga mocks the anguish of Nigerians, rationalises their suffering, and spins propaganda for a regime that governs with impunity.

Atiku’s aide noted that Onanuga has since crossed to the other side, even though he stood in the beginning for the fight for democracy.

He wrote, “Dear Bayo, You may have been part of the media resistance during the June 12 struggle—through TheNews and Tempo. You stood against military tyranny and spoke truth to power. For that, history once reserved you a seat among the defenders of democracy. But today, you no longer walk that noble path.

“You now lend your voice, not to the people, but to a government whose actions echo the very oppression you once stood against. You defend policies that deepen poverty, excuse incompetence, and enable tyranny. You mock the anguish of Nigerians, rationalize their suffering, and spin propaganda for a regime that governs with impunity. That is not what June 12 was about.

“So I ask: do you truly deserve to be honored as a June 12 hero?

“June 12 was not just a date—it was a moral uprising. It was about the will of the people, the sacrifice of patriots, and the refusal to bow to authoritarianism. Those who deserve to wear its badge must live its values—not just during the struggle, but in the aftermath when power tempts and truth becomes inconvenient.

“Can a man who now defends oppression be counted among the oppressed? Can one who rationalizes injustice be celebrated on the altar of justice?

“To reward you with a CON under the banner of June 12 is to desecrate the memory of Kudirat Abiola, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, Alfred Rewane, and the millions who yearned for a better Nigeria. You may have stood at the beginning of the fight, Bayo—but you have since crossed over to the other side.

“Honor is not just about where you stood in the past; it is about where you stand when it matters most. And today, you stand not with the people but against them. You should wear a badge of betrayal, not a national honor

Tottenham begin talks to hijack transfer of 60m Man Utd target New Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank
Tottenham have held initial discussions to sign Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo following the appointment of Thomas Frank, according to reports.Mbeumo had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs but appeared to have his heart set on a move to United this summer.Brentford knocked back an initial offer from the Red Devils worth an initial fee of £45million, but Ruben Amorim’s side are expected to come back with a second offer closer to the Bees’ £60m valuation.United are eager to sign the forward who netted 20 Premier League goals last season and bring him to Old Trafford alongside Matheus Cunha to boost their attacking options. However, they may well have to act swiftly to complete a deal, with Sky Sports reporting that Tottenham have held talks with Brentford over a deal for Mbeumo.Spurs appointed former Brentford manager Frank as their head coach on Thursday and the Dane is keen to bring some of his former players with him to north London. The report adds that Mbeumo is said to be more keen to consider a move to Tottenham following the appointment of Frank. Byran Mbeumo has attracted interest from Manchester United and Brentford (Picture: Getty)Frank brought Mbeumo to Brentford from French club Troyes in 2019, with the Cameroon international spending two seasons in the Championship before helping the Bees get promoted to the top-flight.The 25-year-old enjoyed his best season in a Brentford shirt last season and has 70 goals in 242 total appearances for the club.Spurs may struggle to compete with United when it comes to wages, however, with Amorim’s side willing to pay Mbeumo a whopping £200,000-a-week.Reports earlier in the week suggested Tottenham may only be able offer £130,000-a-week.However, they may hope that the allure of Champions League football could give them a potential edge over United.Tottenham still hold a long-standing interest in Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, who is also admired by United.

Appeal Court Refuses APC s Relist Request Dismisses Yes No Chairmen Case
The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has reportedly struck out a request by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to relist its appeal against the Federal High Court judgment that nullified the controversial October 15, 2022 local government elections in Osun State.OSUN DEFENDER reports that the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo had nullified the election that produced the APC council chairmen. However, there has been a political crisis since a Court of Appeal judgement which reportedly reinstated the APC council chairmen, according to the APC, a claim that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has always debunked. In a unanimous decision, Justice Peter Obiorah, who read the lead judgement on Friday, also condemned APC’s misrepresentation of its February 10, 2025 judgment. The court reportedly clarified that it never reinstated the sacked APC chairmen, warning the party against distorting the court’s decisions for political gain. The justices travis scott air jordan 1 retro low og black olive release date fall 2024 emphasized that the judiciary must not be treated as an extension of any political organization.“It is a case of violenti non fit injúria, they cannot complain nike air jordan 1 low outlet on a self-inflicted injury. Equity aids the vigilant, and not the indolent,” the Appeal Court held.Justice Obiorah further held that “If they knew their tenure is just three years, and they went to sleep over their Appeal against their sack for two years, it is inconceivable.”“There are three appellants with one joint Notice of Appeal, only one party is making an application to relist. Even if that one party can come alone, what are the reasons for bringing this application? If the APC is sincere, as a party that has many candidates affected by the Appeal, one wonders why they went to sleep and failed to transmit records on time in accordance with the law and the rules of the court.“I draw attention to this fact in order to show that the 3rd appellant applicant (APC) who was pursuing the sister appeal based on the same facts and similar judgement of the same Judex, Ayo Emmanuel J, cannot claim ignorance for not compiling the records of Appeal or have any credible reason for abandoning the prosecution of this Appeal that was dismissed on the 13th day of January, 2025. The sudden attempt to resurrect this appeal through this same court will only lead to confusion and this Court will resist such attempt to lure it to unwittingly seat on Appeal in CA/AK/270/2022. Everything in this application shows that the third Air Jordan 1 Retro High Top 3 appellant has not shown good air jordan 1 low og florida gators pe cause why this application should be granted. The family of late Highlife music legend Mike Ejeagha has explained why the musician was buried less than 24 hours after his passing.Ejeagha, known for the iconic folk tune “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo,” died on Friday night, June 6, 2025, at the age of 95.He was laid to rest the following day, Saturday, June 7, at his hometown of Umuagba, Imezi-Owa in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the musician’s eldest son, Emmanuel Ejeagha, revealed that the swift burial was in strict obedience to the deceased’s final wish.“My father made it clear before his death that he did not want to be embalmed,” Emmanuel said. “He sternly instructed me, as his first son, that once he passed on, he should be buried within 24 hours. We have honoured that wish.”Emmanuel noted that the decision was taken after consulting with the extended family and the local community.“I contacted members of my family and informed them that my father made a wish that he should be laid to rest 24 hours after his death. I also summoned a meeting of my kindred and we discussed extensively. Stop Pretending Declare For Governor If You Want To Contest Kalu Tells Dep Speaker
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has insisted that the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, cannot be a “holder and beholderSen. Kalu, who stated this in his country home while fielding questions from newsmen on Tuesday, said if Ben Kalu wishes to run for governor, he should come out in the open and declare it.He added that he has advised his brother against contesting Benjamin Kalu.“I have asked my brother to back off. He and Ben Kalu cannot run together. So if Benjamin Kalu wants to run, let him come out and declare he wants to run for governor so we prepare to win the governorship. If he is not running, let him go back and run for his House of Representatives seat. But he cannot be a holder and a beholder; that is where I stand.”Speaking of why he was absent at the Renewed Hope Partners organised by the Deputy Speaker last weekend, Kalu dismissed any political disagreement with Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, affirming their close relationship. He, however, called for clarity on Benjamin Kalu’s political ambitions.“I am always with him in Abuja; whenever he has time, he comes to see me. I have no problems with him. “It’s just, let him say what he wants,” he echoed. On his visit to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State and the revelation from Otti that he is Kalu’s infrastructural template to develop Aba, Kalu said that during his time as governor, his target was to build Aba to use the resources to build other places and that’s what he did.“There’s nowhere in Africa that people do not know Aba and Enyimba City and that starts with securing the people. I created the Bakassi boys and they worked with the police and DSS to secure the place. This shows the people who said we didn’t do anything in the state. I laid the foundation and worked with a template to build the Aba and Umuahia, adding Ohambele.“My visit to Gov. Otti is very private. I’m the oldest governor of Abia State. I have the right to go to Governor Alex Otti. My discussion with him is about the state. I’m building 5 factories in Igbere which will take off in the next one year and before long, it will start processing so I need peace and unity in this place.“I’m APC to the core and I’ve said that I’ll pull the trigger for the party. APC should work hard to deliver the party in the state and Federal and we are committed to that.“I’m a high-ranking member of the APC. To suspend me from the party, you will have to go to the NEC. So we need to make APC win in other places. Politics is not all about carrying crowds because young men who are in politics to make money are making noise. We don’t do that. I’ve been in business for 40 years and I’ve a track record,” he said.
